Description

The Division of Transplant Surgery in the Department of Surgery at the University of Washington School of Medicine is accepting applications and nominations for a full-time faculty position in pediatric transplant surgery based at Seattle Children’s Hospital (SCH). The title, salary and rank are commensurate with training, qualifications, and experience, with an expected start date in Winter 2023. UW faculty engage in teaching, research, and service.

The main responsibilities for this position include participating in surgical transplantation (kidney, liver, and multivisceral transplantation) procedures, clinic, selection committee, and organ recovery for children. The pediatric transplant surgeon will also be responsible for teaching and training of residents, fellows, and medical students.

Requirements

A successful candidate must hold an MD (or foreign equivalent) and be board certified or board eligible by the American Board of Surgery (or foreign equivalent). Candidates must have completed an accredited transplant surgery fellowship program. Experience in pediatric abdominal transplantation post-fellowship or fellowship training with pediatric transplant exposure is also required.

In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
