We are excited to welcome veterinary students to Broadview for hands-on experience in our practices. Privately owned and operated, our three AAHA-accredited hospitals provide full-service small animal general medicine, surgery, theriogenology, and urgent care services.
Our externship program offers students comprehensive exposure to a variety of disciplines in a fast-paced private practice setting. Students can expect to become familiar with the practice of veterinary medicine through participation in client communication, hospital operations, and medical and surgical services.
Under the mentorship of one of our experienced veterinarians, students will be able to apply knowledge and skills learned in the classroom to a range of cases. Students will be exposed to soft tissue and laparoscopic procedures, as well as our hospital’s highly regarded orthopedic services. Additionally, Broadview offers the unique opportunity for students to gain experience in our distinguished theriogenology department. Students can also rotate through learning opportunities in general practice, exotic animal health, and urgent care.
Externships typically span two-three weeks, with the possibility of extension depending on participant’s preference and educational requirements. Housing may be available for a limited number of students upon request. Our Externship location is in beautiful Dover, NH. This location features a ground-up construction with 3 surgery suites (separate soft-tissue, orthopedic, and dirty procedure rooms), 10+ exam rooms, separate canine and feline treatment areas, and fear-free inspired design built to AHAA specifications.
